What we collect

ClubLadder collects only what is necessary to run a club ladder:

  • Club data: club name, invite code, events, matches, and standings.
  • Player data: player names, optional NTRP ratings, optional email addresses and phone numbers (provided voluntarily by players or entered by an admin), and color preferences.
  • Device identity: a randomly-generated UUID stored in your device's Keychain. This never contains personal information and is not linked to your Apple ID.
  • Match history: scores, outcomes, and the resulting rating changes.

We do not collect health data, location, contacts, photos, or any information beyond what is listed above.

How we use it

All data is used solely to provide the ClubLadder service:

  • Display standings and player profiles to club members.
  • Calculate and store Elo ratings.
  • Allow admins to manage their club through the app and website.
  • Authenticate admin access to the website using device-bound one-time codes.

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics services, or any purpose other than operating the service.

Who can see your data

Club members can see the ladder standings and player profiles for their club — including names, ratings, and match history. Optional contact information (email, phone) is visible only to admins.

Admins of your club can see all player data entered for that club, including contact information.

Virginia Park Tree, LLC (the developer) hosts the data on servers in the United States. We access data only to operate the service and to respond to admin support requests. We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third party.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is stored on our servers for as long as your club is active. Club admins can delete individual player records or deactivate players at any time through the app. To request complete deletion of a club and all associated data, email us at the address below.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Device identity codes are stored as cryptographic hashes (bcrypt). Admin website sessions use short-lived single-use tokens. We do not store plaintext passwords because there are no passwords — authentication is device-based.

Children

ClubLadder is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child's data has been entered in error, contact us for removal.
